I'm going to throw this out there and get things started. You guys can post to this thread at first, then whenever we hear that everyone has signed up for Yahoo messenger we can do stuff there if we need to.
| MIRTUL 9| Shade is moving away from Evereska, deeper into the desert. Shade seals its alliance with Malygris and his blue dragons. House Kholarrn decides to leave Shade, barely escaping one of Shade’s blue dragon allies with the aid of Job’s gargoyles.
House Kholarrn returns to Waterdeep to find the city still in the grip of winter, despite being well into Mirtul (Earth's May). Unusually late blizzards continue to assault the city.
Despite the weather, trade continues to prosper, albeit at a lower level. The snow slows caravan traffic, affects crop growth, and ships in the harbor threaten to capsize under the weight of their ice-encrusted masts.
House Kholarrn has continued to prosper in the absence of its master. Hasheth has continued to foster the House's relations with its allied Houses and the merger with Maeci's Sword Coast Spices.
What will the returning members of the House next course of action be?

Taman will go to the mage guild to research his new found spell ability's and investigate the late snow fall. Also he will try to meet with the lords of waterdeep to discuss some of the things he learned during his time on shade. If a meeting is granted there will be no mention of the staff or any shadow magic. He will also arrange to have the house officially chartered if that has not yet happened.I can't remember if it did. During spare time he will start his mentoring of Pharaun.

Gage will spend some time contemplating his humanity or lack there of, and attempting to test the boundaries of his shadiness. Beyond that, he will likely check in on all of the goings on in the Sprawls and maybe visit Cyndria. Whatever he does however he will try to hide whatever effects of becoming a shade are obvious to other people including everyone in the House.

I think that I would like to spend some "quality time" with my drow companion(s). After that I feel that contemplating my new found attributes and trying to develop them will be my primary focus. I still think I'll be wrestling internally over the inevitable personal consumption as a result of the weave but may learn to embrace it over time. Perhaps the master of putting on a different face for the world to see, will tutor me in that as well.

House Kholarnn is already officially noble. No need to worry about that.
At the Tower of the Order, home of the Watchful Order of Magists & Protectors, Taman is able to find out how rare his knowledge of Netherese mantles truly is. There are many speculations on the matter, but apparently none in the Order know how to duplicate it.
The weather is also a subject of much contention, as many suspect it is not natural, but none can determine its origin. Reports are coming in that weather all across Faerun has been affected; repeated deluges of rain have caused many rivers to flood their banks, swamping farmland as close as those located just south of the Ardeep Forest (just south of Waterdeep).
Taman is granted a meeting with the Lords of Waterdeep scheduled for Mirtul 16. We can IM that if you like or we can glaze over what Taman says and the results here if you like. Your choice.
Gage has come back from Shade a changed man. Everything about him is darker. It's obvious to anyone that knows him, but strangers would probably just assume he is of southern heritage. His skin and hair are darker and duskier, for example, but not unnaturally so.
Things in the Sprawls have continued apace; your crew has had a few minor confrontations with the Shadow Thieves, but there have been no casualties as of yet. The gold continues to flow.
Gage finds Cynndria at New Olamn deep in her studies. She greets him with a great hug upon seeing him. She obviously notes his changed appearance, but says nothing (unless Gage is hiding it).
She remarks that Stedd's arrival back to the city has the Melshimber household in a bit of chaos as the two brothers vie for their mother's attention. She (and many others apparently) finds it quite hilarious.
As far as Gage exploring his abilites, I think we went over what exactly he can do now in that IM a few days ago, but I can give you another rundown elsewhere if you like.
Pharaun finds Stedd's house guests have actually moved to Dacer's Inn, a fine old establishment located just three blocks away from the Melshimber villa. There he finds Furilla Joswyv’n (his "interest") and her companions enjoying Waterdeep's hospitality. Furilla seems to be enjoying it more than the others, who seem to complain incessantly about the cold.
Sovial, Hand of the Adama, and another of Stedd's guests, spends much of his time preaching to the other guests of the inn about the ethics of the Adama. His words have been well-received because of the openness of his religion. Essentially, the code of the Adama is that it matters not what deity you worship, as long as you are fair and just. It is really more of a philosophy than a religion, as it is more a matter of everyday conduct and bearing rather than ceremony and ritual.
Stedd, his guards, and traveling companions (the elf Tam, the sailor Herberth, and the half-orc Grog) will also often be found here visiting. They (along with Furilla) like to saunter out into the cold night, visiting the various taverns of Sea Ward as a group.
Maeci is pleasantly surprised at how well things have gone with Sword Coast Spices despite the foul weather. Undoubtedly involving House Kholarnn has benefitted her and the business. She hears from her assistant that the man at House Kholarnn, Hasheth, has been polite and forthright throughout.
A visit to the Spires of the Morning reminds her that Rhyestertide - a Lathanderite holiday - is coming up soon. The dreams of the blond priest of Lathander continue intermittently.
Jobu will hang around House Kholarnn and the city for now, enjoying his freedom. Unless someone objects.

| MIRTUL 11| Lathanderites across the city today celebrated Rhyestertide, the holiday commemorating the life of Rhyester, the first prophet of the Morninglord. Before dawn, the Spires of the Morning were set alight with vibrant red and yellow faerie fire magics, and the dawnpriests fanned out across the city to help the needy or infirm.

If you think that this exchange would yield any useful information, we could IM it. If not we can gloss over. Do you feel it could be a beneficial exchange?

I had my discussion with the lords of waterdeep with Brett in an email. I think I would have only taken Hasheth as council. So feel free to post your stuff.

Upon returning from his meeting with the lords of waterdeep Taman will inform the house members of the important points of his conversation. First he informed the lords that; 1) The city is ruled by the Most High "Lord Shadow". 2) The city is what remains of the Netherese Empire that had been in the demiplane of shadows. 3) That Lord Shadow has moved the city away from Evereska and into the desert of Anauroch . I am not sure of the reason why. 4) Also The Shade have made an alliance with Malygris and his blue dragons.
To this information the following was told to him; "I should tell you that this alliance between Shade and Malygris is of no surprise to us. Prince Aglarel appeared before us yesterday and showed us the blues of Anauroch saving our Waterdhavian relief army from a phaerimm-led horde at the Winding Water (OOC* - the Winding Water is a river somewhere between Waterdeep and Evereska). It looks like they will make Evereska after all due to the intervention of the shades and their dragon allies. Regardless of their actions, the alliance between Waterdeep and Shade is no more. Despite our attempts at negotiations, Prince Aglarel took exception to our concerns and withdrew Shade's protection. Your testimony here today only reinforces our belief that the right choice was made."
Taman will then tell all the members of the house"Please limit any discussion of our time on Shade outside of these walls to the few facts I have reviled already."
