I decided I wanted to do a little Play by Post for events that take place between adventures. I'll put as much effort into your character's sub-plot as you show interest in by the quickness of your responses. If you don't respond to a Play by Post message I should be able to resolve any lingering plot events before the next session of Necessary Evil and give you a hand out prior to the game. Once I have all the names of the supers I should have one of these for each character.
Gyrth-
You have a large apartment in Southpoint, and as you've read Southpoint is a hive of drug dealing and gang activity... but not where you live. You live in one of the last sections of Star City still activly controlled by organized crime.
Every corner has a small gang of enforcers who work for "The Family" stationed on it, armed to the teeth with concealed automatic weapons loaded with HeroKiller rounds, and all residents pay a hefty protection fee. You've lived in this neighborhood most of your life and are well known to most residents as a good fella. Now days that's come to be a pretty important thing.
Your main contact to "The Family" is a retired enforcer named Lucky Lou Cuizo. Lucky Lou runs a pool hall and not so under ground gambling operation named "Breakers" that is frequented by most of the muscle who live in the area, and has never obeyed the non-smoking ordinance. Breakers lies just behind your apartment complex and tends to be your favorite hang out for obious reasons.
Things in your neighborhood strangely haven't changed all that much since the V'sori took over, one thing that has changed is the outlook The Family has about supers. In the past The Family would use or pay supers for participating in various operations, but since the V'isori started rounding up supers and anyone who had long term connections with them, The Family has been cutting ties. Luckily for you, you have always been considered one of the gang, and for the most part have avoided that negativity; though a few old friends still act suspiciously around you from time to time.
After any events at the where house you were dropped off at are resolved...
You return to your apartment and feed your cat, there are a few messages from a buddy named Jimmy "Kangaroo" Fisk a portly small time smuggler and fence asking where you had disappeared to over the last few days ("what? did ya find the last virgin in South Point?!? LOL") and wonders if your going to be free next week for a little job near the docks. He's hired you occasionally to act as muscle on speciality runs, you figure its more of the same.
Reading the Star City Gazette, you notice in the obituaries an old family friend Sally O'halihan (who lived on the first floor of your building) has died at age 63 from a Seizure and is survived by a daughter you never knew about.
Whatever those cuffs were that the aliens put on you gave you one monster of a head ache.. you retire early that night after taking nearly a whole bottle of Ibuprofen.
The next day, you wake up very late (your used to working late hours) eat a box of Cheerios with a six pack of beer, and nearly a whole tub of super weight gainer 5000 protein mix (ever since you started changing you've needed that horrid tasting stuff or else be hungry all day... you seem to be eating more and more of it as the months go by.)
Later in the day you head over to Breaker's, you had agreed to meet Rocky (the old enforcer guy who hangs out with Bugnoid) there later in the evening but when you get there you find him playing pool and head on over.
The hours roll by and your able to gather some info on a number of subjects.
Rocky pretty much fills you in on his and Dr. Bugnoid's life story (I'll send you an email with an attachment and have a copy at the game) He knows Bugnoid is a loon, but hes a genius of a loon and Rocky believes that one day, one way or another, the good doctor will come into some luck and Rocky will finally be able to buy a bar like Breakers and hang up those stupid bouncing antennae forever.
He's also been pissed that Dr. Bugnoid has been hiring "undocumented minions" lately, and worries that one day soon he might get replaced by a gang of non English speaking guys with no style, who seem to love the damn bouncing antennae. When he leaves he gives you directions to the "Bugstrosity" located in Westpoint and tells you to drop by his trailer any time.
you also make some contacts with others in the bar who tell you that
1) a cycle gang called "The Norse-men" have been pushing north and threatening the territory controlled by The Family.
2) a local mook named Pauly Vinchensie has been suspected of dealing drugs out side Family territory... (The Family generally looks harshly uphon drug dealers)
3) a woman named Carla Pulaski claims her daughter has been abducted by persons unknown
your in the Bar making phone calls when the next thing happens... I'll go over it with you at the game.
