Not quite sure how to proceed with this one, but I thought of a cool way to get Kev's character out of the picture for a while.
While you guys are being chased thru Cormanthor by the drow of both House Jaelre (the ones who held you prisoner) and House Pharn (the invaders), Kev's guy (Corin?) gets peppered full of bolts and keels over. Hawk and Argus believe him instantly killed and have to keep fleeing.
I'm not sure where else to take this campaign, tho I like the drow stuff we have going. Hawk's relationship with that female scout of House Jaelre may be a good way to keep it going. I'm always open to other ideas, too.

What about using some of the hooks from the new underdark guide?

Nah, they'll just think him dead.
I figured that was the only way I could break up Corran and Argus.

Do you play Drow characters?

No, they are surface dwellers that got caught in the middle of some warring houses in the forest of Cormanthor:
Cole "Hawk" Hawkwood - Joe's guy - a Sembian in exile in the Dales - rogue/fighter I think
Argus Greycastle - Eric's char - paladin/Purple Dragon knight - veteran of the war in Cormyr that saw the death of King Azoun IV - came to the Dales to reclaim his family's estate in Mistledale
Corran - Kev's guy - I can't remember his last name - he's a priest of Mystra/wizard - a close friend of Argus' that joined him on his trip to the Dales
We basically switched campaigns cuz this one wasn't doing anything for me creatively. I just wasn't coming up with anything all that interesting. I'd still like to do something with it, even if that means it somehow turns into the Underdark campaign I mentioned.

I enjoy playing Hawk. Despite his roguishness, he's actually the most "well-meaning" character I play. He believes there's good in everyone. He has to, for his own sake, because he did something in his past that he's vowed to make amends for if it takes the rest of his days. What that is, though, he's not telling.
Not yet, at least... mainly because I don't know either.

Well, let me know if you come up with anything at all you'd like to do with Hawk.
The same goes for anyone else involved.
You guys' ideas are what's going to get this campaign happenin again.

What was Hawk's past before his thief days?

What was Hawk's past before his thief days? He was a woodcutter's son and fairly mistreated because his father was embittered and a drunkard and took to either ignoring Hawk or beating him because he "looks so much like his mother." His father told him his mother is dead, but I think I'd actually like her to be alive. Maybe she fell in love with another man when Hawk was two or three. She tried to take him with her but Hawk's father ran off with the boy, not because he wanted him but to spite her; to take something away from her and hurt her. So they never settled in one place for very long. They moved from job to job seeking employment and Hawk was scaling trees by the time he was 6 years old, "making himself useful and earning his keep," as his father would say. Whatever extra coin the boy made just went into his father's purse for wine and ale. When Hawk was 13, he'd had enough and he and his father got into a row and the man beat Hawk to a bloody mess, broke his arm and his jaw, and some nights later a group of loggers who didn't appreciate what the father had done to his boy beat Hawk's da bloody. They took Hawk away to heal and the two of them were apart for nearly two months, but Hawk healed and tracked his father down in Essembra. The man wanted nothing to do with him, though. He told him he never wanted to see him again and they bitterly parted ways. Hawk wandered for a while, taking odd jobs, sometimes working as a logger, sometimes begging. Eventually, at age 16, he ended up in Hillsfar, and that's where his lecherous side took root. He fell in with a bad crowd, probably joining an untamed and avaricious band of fortune seekers -- brigands and thieves the lot of them. Hawk indulged in all sorts of plunderous activities throughout the western branch of the Moonsea and into Cormanthor. In time, however, his guilty conscience caught up with him and he began feeling more and more isolated from his "brothers." He had coin and he did his best to distance himself from them, but they wouldn't have it and they roped him back in whenever he strayed a little. Eventually, he was present when some of his more adversarial companions had a falling out over a "big job" and more than a dozen of them fell to blows and then to blades. By fortune alone, Hawk ended up as the only survivor of the fray (he probably hid) and he saw this as his chance to get away. He gathered his belongings, as well as some treasure or an item of some sort (I want him to have something hidden that his former companions want), and fled Hillsfar. He ended up in Ashabenford for about a year before Argus and Corran came along, and you fellas pretty much know the rest. So that's Hawk's condensed, rough history, and I just made most of it up as I wrote this post. Any thoughts or ideas?

Cool map. What about a game hook that starts with bringing part of Hawks past into the present. His father, mother, or members of the "Brothers"? Or we can start out to return to Cormyr to inform Corrans family of his death. I think that would make sense due to the closeness of Argus and Corrans family.

Yeah, all that info and ideas n stuff definitely helps me out tons.
All sounds great too. I'll have to take another look at the stuff I had laid out for that campaign.

Hey I had a thought. Maybe Corran can return from the dead as undead of some kind. I have no real reason why but I thouhgt it might be interesting. It will obviously be well down the road but just a thought. Also it might help with the difference in levels of the group if he was some kind of undead. Like Milatedes was in the pool of raidience series. Let me know what you think.

I also had a thought about Corran. Although Argus and Hawk believe him dead, he actually lived and was forced into slavery by the drow. What happens to him after that who knows? Although Brett did mention something cool that ties into Hawk's past, which has to do with the slave ring in Hillsfar and the combat arena there. Interesting possibilities.
Not that I am discounting your undead idea. Just thought I'd toss out another alternative.
